ML370 and MSA30 Drive Array Problem
I have a 1 year old HP ML370 G3 server with Smart Array 5304 scsi card, and I just purchased a MSA30 DB drive cage, and when I define an array on the new drives in the MSA30 I cannot see the one of existing drive arrays (Array B).
the hardware setup is as follows:
HP Compaq ML370 G3, with HP Smart Array 5304-256 with latest Firmware.
Array A: 2x 18GB 15K Ultra 320 drives RAID 0+1 configured as C: Boot Drive. (Windows Server 2003) internal in server slots 0,1
Array B: 6x 72GB 10K Ultra 320 drives RAID 5 - currently 1 logical drive with 3 partitions (contains ~250GB of data) internal in server slots 0-5
Array C: MSA30 DB, 7x 146GB 10K Ultra 320 Drives RAID5. l logical drive 1 partition. (no data)
HP Array Configuration Utility (ACU) shows all 3 arrays and all logical drives.
when windows server 2003 boots with all 3 arrays configured only Array A and Array C show as windows drives in the Disk Management utility. All 3 Arrays are shown by ACU.
When Array C is deleted Array A and Array B show in Disk Management (and all the data ect are available),
All drives are set to Primary Partition in Disk Management, and type basic.
the dirve properties are listed array B and C both appear as Disk 1 also say Bus Number 0, Target ID 5 LUN 0. (when they are available as described above not both at the same time)
If anyone has any solutions to this it would be apprecieted.
Regards
Craig.
