Monitoring Servers on Shutdown

Hi All.

Im getting a problem on shutdown of a server that is from an image of a working machine.

During shutdown I get an svchost error with a memory address which hangs for a short time then the server goes into reboot. What I was wondering is if there is any software out there that can monitor what a server does on shutdown and logs it?

The server has Citrix PS 4.5 installed and the original server where the image is from does not have this problem. I am currently trying a few things like stopping services then rebooting to see if I can pin point the problem but im not having much luck.

Ant help is most appreciated guys.

Thanks
Dean

Re: Monitoring Servers on Shutdown

Hello,

There's a way for you to manually generate a .dmp file for further analysis.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244139/en-us

If the .dmp file isn't too big, you could upload it here so we can analyze it.

Re: Monitoring Servers on Shutdown

Hi Edgar.

Thanks for the reply. I have been looking on the net and found a solution on the citrix website. Even thoug it was for another product the fix worked but your post will be very helpful for future problems.

Many Thanks

Re: Monitoring Servers on Shutdown

The fix was to re-apply the citrix rollup patch.
