MS SQL 2005 on DL580G5
Hi, I have two DL580G5 servers that have Windows Server 2003 installed with SP2. On both servers we get an error when trying to install SQL 2005. The error is "The SQL Service failed to Start". I have tried the solution from MS http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954835/en-us.
I have another two new DL380G6 and SQL installs fine on them.Any ideas? Thanks

Re: MS SQL 2005 on DL580G5
hi,
i found this link, they also desribe the same issue as you, where are 4 CPU with 6 cores.
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlgetstarted/thread/86f1eebd-a9f9-4df6-822c-2217801b0aac
i think, on the DL380G6, you have a QUAD-core CPU so this is the reason why you are able to install sucessfull the SQL2005.

Re: MS SQL 2005 on DL580G5
Thanks mikap, however I have already tried the methods described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954835/en-us.
