Network Teaming Errors

Network Teaming Errors

We use teaming on all our servers, set to a the option: Network Fault Tolerance Only with Preference Order. We have network errors on all our NICS since we've teamed them, all with Receive Errors. As soon as we un-team, the errors disappear. The errors usually appear on the individual cards, not on the team

Re: Network Teaming Errors

Initially, confirm that you are using the latest firmware and drivers.

Re: Network Teaming Errors

Where are you seeing these errors? Is there any more information in the error?
1. What Proliant server models (including generation)
2. Is this Windows 2003 Standard? Enterprise? Spk1?
And if you could also verify what version of the NCU (Network Configuration Utility) is running

Re: Network Teaming Errors

This is happening on DL360 G2 up to G4 and DL380 G2 up to G4 Servers. We have the same set up on most of our servers. Nic 1 and Nic 2 are set to 100/Full or 1000/full, and then they are teamed. Team Type is Network Fault Tolerance (NFT). When you look at the statistics of the individual network card, say Nic1, there are alot of Receive Errors, one is showing 1,580 Receive Errors. When you click on the Advanced Statistics, you see that there are Overruns, and NO buffers as well. All our switches are set to 100/Full or 1000/Full (no auto/auto is set). We are running Network Configuration Utility, 8.37.0.0. The NIC Drivers are all up to date

Re: Network Teaming Errors

We have this same issue. Hope to see a solution here. Last entry was in Feb so I'm not confident anyone is really working on this.

Re: Network Teaming Errors

We are still having the same problems, and we are still updating network card drivers and network configuration utility whenever there is a new one released, but still experiencing the same errors

Re: Network Teaming Errors

There was an issue with the teaming driver. We had a case open for several months and a new driver was recently (very) released.

Re: Network Teaming Errors

I know that the driver was released earlier this month, but even after running this in our environment on G5 (DL380's), we still had the same network retransmissions errors as well.

I am tempted to open a new case with HP on this one, as we see these errors on other G2-G5' as well. We have an environment of about 850 systems, and it is frustrating.

Re: Network Teaming Errors

We have updated drivers to the new v7.80 on our servers, and we still have same network errors on them, so nothing has been fixed by the new driver for us

Re: Network Teaming Errors

Was this ever resolved? I've go a similar problem on a DL360 G5, no teaming but lots of "No Buffers" errors. All the latest firmware and drivers (and NCU).

Re: Network Teaming Errors

is Windows 2003 sp2 the issue?
you have to turn off some network optimisations with some network cards
