Printer Setup For Telnet User On Windows 2003

Hi,
The Windows 2003 Server is running telnet
services through which the user connects to
to the server and executes COBOL program,
which generates reports and the output is
being generated into a file.

Now I want that the user can use
the "PRINT" command of DOS to print this
file to a specific printer of his/her
choice which we have mapped on different
LPT Ports. Using the following command

net use LPT2 \\machine\printer /PERSISTENT:YES

but when i try to give print to this LPT
port through my telnet session it says
Unable to initialize.

How can i make printers visible to the
telnet users.

Thanks,
Amit

One more thing,

is the printer shared with the correct access rights?

One of the Line Printer is directly connected to the Win 2003 Server and the other printers are connected on Windows XP machine which i have mapped through net use command on a particular LPT port on windows 2003 server.

Permission, I have given rights to everyone please tell me what should i do so that the user who are connected to telnet session can print through network printers.

thanks,

Hi,

when you share a printer and you add the user, who have access to the printer, there is also a terminaluser. Add this to the access user list and try again.
Can you print to the local printer?

Are the Users connecting as themselves (local Windows accounts) in the telnet session, or did you configure a different entity?
