Problem with Windows Server 2003 - MACs Client

Dear All,

Someone help me pls!

My File Server is running MS Windows Storage 2003 Server OS(Bundled in HP DL380 Storage Server.

MS Windows Client is ok.

We're using AFP for Mac sharing.

But, Macintosh Clients (both 9.x & 10.x Version) have problem with sharing from File Server: can not see some of the shared Folders / Files.
(No. of files & folder are over 65K).

If you have any solution, pls help me!

Thanks & Best Regards,

James Nguyen

Re: Problem with Windows Server 2003 - MACs Client

Hi James,

If you haven't done this already, try this. Go to Computer Management and right click on Shared Folders. Check the Service for Macintosh file services and choose Apple Unencrypted Authentication instead of the Microsoft UAM. Also bear in mind that newly created AFP shares are read only (though that should not affect authentication).

Hope that helps!
