ProLiant Support Pack 7.51 problems ?
Hi,
Is anybody else experiencing problems with PSP 7.51 ? We have encountered problems upgrading from PSP 7.4 to 7.51 on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP1.
Once we successfully installed the PSP and rebooted the server, the OS boots fine, but there is no network connectivity. In device manager the Virtual NIC (Team) is enabled, but but the Physical NICs are disabled. Windows reports that it cannot enable the devices if I try to enable them. What worked on some of the servers was to dissolve the team, uninstall the NIC and then reload PSP 7.51. But this procedure does not work on all the servers.
Is anybody else experiencing similiar problems with PSP 7.51 ?
Thanks,
Scherrit

Re: ProLiant Support Pack 7.51 problems ?
If there is more then one revision between a potential upgrade, it is strongly recommended not to upgrade - do an uninstall then install new. Going from 7.40 to 7.51 is actually jumping 2 versions ahead - there was 7.40B & 7.50 versions in-between.
Specifically with network teaming, an upgrade to the next version may require you to break the team and re-create. This scenario is not unusual.

Re: ProLiant Support Pack 7.51 problems ?
This has nothing to do with jumping revisions. HP could fix this issue very easily.
