Reset Agent Password
We recieved several Proliant servers from a vendor already built (i.e. Smart Start had been run and the app loaded). The vendor for some reason doesn't seem to remember what password they used in Smart Start for accessing the management page for the server. Does anyone know how I can get the password changed without rebuilding the server from the ground up? Could I uninstall the management agents and reinstall them?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Reset Agent Password
You can install new ProLiant Support Pack
7.20 version
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/21280.html
In this version management home page uses Windows authentication so that you don't need all the silly 'administrator', 'operator', and 'user' accounts.
If you want to use old agents - you have following options:
-you can reinstall agents and change password
Or much easier
-Copy the CPQHMMD.ACL file (usually in c:\compaq\wbem) from a server you know the agent password to the server where you don't know the password. Restart the web agent, the password will be changed to the same as the server from which you copied the file.

Re: Reset Agent Password
Thanks. Copying the ACL file has worked. It is a quick fix for now. I will definitely be looking at v7.2. I only have 125 servers to update!
