RIS on Windows 2K3

Hi, I'm brand new to this forum and not an IT professional. Rather, I'm a student working for a company on my work term trying to set up RIS for them. I got everything working and even installed Windows XP Professional remotely to a workstation, and successfully uploaded an IBM ThinkPad T42 image to the RIS server. Problem is, when I plugged in another T42 to download the image to, Windows Setup gave me the error: "The image you have selected does not contain the drivers for your networking device." I then restarted the notebook and could not image it. Now, when I imaged the first notebook, I obviously did it using the built-in gigabit NIC - so how would the image not have the necessary drivers, if I was using them to create the image? Any help would be appreciated!!

Re: RIS on Windows 2K3

The reason you're receiving this error is because the correct drivers for your network card aren't available.
A client RIS install is set up in two stages. Stage one requires the DOS drivers for the network card (This is why you're receiving the error). Stage 2 is the GUI section of the install. What you need to do to resolve the problem for stage one is find the correct DOS drivers for the laptop NIC and install the driver file into the following location (something like this:)\\ServerName\reminst\Setup\english\images\windowsXP\i386
