Hi,
I am new to Terminal Server, and I "inherited" A Windows 2003 Terminal Server, from a Workmate who was leaving the company.
we have an issue where this server is giving out Temporary licenses', instead of the correct license. and these license expirer as they are only temporary, but we have full licenses' available.
for some reason its set up with the following licenses' under the terminal server.
1)Existing Windows 2000 Server - Terminal Server Per cal Device.
2)Windows Server 2003 - Terminal Server Per users Cal Token
3)Temporary license for windows server 2003 - Terminal server per device
4)Windows 2000 server - Terminal service cal token per device
5)Windows 2003 Server - Terminal Server Per users Cal Token
When you click on the "Existing Windows 2000 Server" it shows maybe 8 licenses.
When you click on the "Temporary license for windows server 2003" it shows 17 licenses.
the other 3 in the above list do not seem to be giving out any licenses.
so my question is, how do I fix this?
should there be a separate TS for Both server 2000 and server 2003?
and also how do I change the above so that it will not give out the temporary licenses'??
any help / suggestions welcome....
Thanks
Damien Brennan

Hi Damien
Not sure if you resolved your problem yet... Terminal Services licenses can be fun to say the least.
Try reading this article:

It should help you out...
