Setting up partition as physical disk

Setting up partition as physical disk

We are having issues setting up disk resources in Windows 2003 cluster. We have 2 physical disks on RAID 1 that we need the OS to see as 2 physical drives instead of 2 logical drives. I was told we could do this using the virtualization layer within our raid controller, but can't find any info on how to do this. Any ideas? We don't want to have to buy 2 more drives. We're using Smart Array 5i Controller.

Re: Setting up partition as physical disk

I think you can better post this question in the ITrc Compaq Windows forum.

This is the HP-UX forum.

Re: Setting up partition as physical disk

Hi,

I agree with Peter, but i will give it a go.
Trip down memory lane.

When you server boots you will be able to access the bios of the raid contoller. In that bois you can create logical disks. It was something like M to access the bios.
