SM Bus Controller

I am trying to install my intel chipset driver to get rid of the sm bus controller question mark. I have searched out my driver on the intel site and found the correct one. However,when I try to install it, it says the computer does not meet the minimum requirements. I have reviewed the minimum requirements and I'm pretty sure that it meets all of them.
I have a hp pavillion dv5000
OS:windows xp professional
Trying to install intel 900 series chipset.
Can anyone help me out?

I think you posted it into wrong forum, but anyway - SM devices often needs configuration in BIOS. And I'm not sure if Intel driver will work for HP machine.
Can't help you much more, searching for 'pavillion dv5000' brings 69 results..
