SmartStart for Proliant ML570 server

Hi
I'm unable to run the SmartStart CD version 6.2/7.0/7.2 (either one) on a
Compaq Proliant ML570 (P20) server.
It keeps on prompting that this server is not supported. When I look up Compatible device list I do see it listed.

Vivek,

If you could provide the ML570 processor model and OS details, it would be good.

Re: SmartStart for Proliant ML570 server

Vivek,

If you use win2003 or its 64 bit version, then you can download the latest version (7.51) of smartstart available in the HP website for for ML570 G4 server.

Re: SmartStart for Proliant ML570 server

Vivek,
According your BIOS type (P20) you have ML570 G1 server (first generation server)
You need to use SmartStart 5.50 CD
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/22678.html
SmartStart 5.50 is last SmartStart version supported on G1 servers

Now, because you post this message in windows 2003 forum I assume you want to install windows 2003 on the server
So, see this thread

P.S. Since you are new on this forum read:

The latest HP SmartStart CD id version 7.51.

You can download from http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/24733.html .

May I know what generation of your Proliant ML570?

This SmartStart CD only support G2/G3/G4 of ML570 server.

Good luck.

Re: SmartStart for Proliant ML570 server

I was able to run the SmartStart 5.5 version. I started off by erasing the disks. Later when it prompted to remove the Smartstart CD I did so and followed installing the Windows 2003 server. After the OS installation I tried to upgrade the storage Controller drivers from the HP web page. I chose ML 570 server and Win 2003 OS and "HP ProLiant Smart Array 5x and 6x Controller Driver for Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003" but the installation failed. The message was no Hardware support for this driver was found. I'm confused as the Rack reads ML570 but from one of the thread in this message it seems it is DL380. I'm very new to this hardware env and would really appreciate if someone can help me out. Thanks a lot in advance.

Re: SmartStart for Proliant ML570 server

Go to this website http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/24537.html , download ProLiant Support Pack for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 version 7.51 A (22 May 06). Run this support pack, it will check through the system, it show which components have the latest driver compare to this current one.

Re: SmartStart for Proliant ML570 server

The link for the SmartStart download for 5.5 above is not working for me, I have similar P20 and 700Mhz processors on a ML570 G1 that I cannot find the SmartStart disk version that will support Server 2003.
