tc4200 RIS Problems
I'm trying to image a tc4200 tablet PC via RIS and not having any luck. Every time I try to use RIS, it stops at the text-mode portion of Windows and says a network driver was not found.
I've found Broadcom's FAQ on this and copied the drivers to the i386 directory, and altered the INF. I've tried Broadcom's drivers, and two versions of hp's drivers. I've tried copying both Windows 2000 and Windows XP drivers. I've tried altering the inf manually, and I've tried using the one out of the RIS subfolder in an HP package.
I've followed the Microsoft knowledge base article that details the changes to the .sif file, and I've copied multiple versions of drivers to multiple locations and it never works. This RIS server and environment do work for installing images on many other kinds of hardware, though none with a Broadcom NIC.
Any suggestions? Or can anyone offer a step by step procedure of everything that needs to be done to get this to work? It's incredibly frustrating. Thanks.

Lu:
I'm not familiar with this particular problem, but this info might help:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;823658 (This sounds like your solution to me. It involves applying a hotfix to the RIS server).

Re: tc4200 RIS Problems
I'll agree, that hotfix does sound promising. I've contacted MS support and I'll check back on this thread once I can install it and try it. Thanks.
