using diskpart to align partitions

Hello,

I've been looking around for information regarding setting up disk alignment.

I read a comment from a Microsoft employee where he said that this can lead to a performance increase of 10-30%. Here it says 10-15% http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;923076

I've got a HP DL580 server with a P800 controller and a MSA70 with 25 disks (local storage).

I would like to align the partitions which I have created on this HP hardware, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Has anyone done this on HP hardware? Which values do I need to use?

Thanks for your help,

Brandon

According to this:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/0e24eb22-fbd5-4536-9cb4-2bd8e98806e7.aspx

And this:

You should use 64.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: using diskpart to align partitions

Hello Ivan,

Thanks for the links, unfortunately the second one doesn't seem to work.
Can you please post the correct link?

I'd like to read a comment from HP stating that 64 is the correct value! :)

Thanks,
Brandon

The second link does work, just copy and paste the URL in your navigator. Direct clic is being rejected by the destination server.
