windows 2003 backed up via ghost

I wanted to confirm that if we ghosted a windows 2003 server that the cid would remain intact if the server needed to be restored. My logical conclusion is that yes it would but wanted to know if anyone has verified this...

Yes. The SID stays the same (Ghost backs up the ENTIRE disk/partition which includes the SID the ACLs, etc.).

We push out disk images from a single Ghosted system, and have to use a SID changer to keep from having duplicate SIDs on our newly imaged systems.

hi tek,

Ghost keeps everything AS IS.

However if you want to remove the sid, serial key, etc.. You can run "riprep" before making a image.
