Windows 2003 server and audigy2/video problem

I have a ProLiant ML370 G3 (2 processors, 4GB RAM, 5 SCSI 73GB disks on RAID-5) installed with Windows Server 2003 with two Audigy 2 cards. I use it as an "Audio Server" for a radio station. It play audio 24h/day.

Recently i encountered a problem with audio on this machine : small pauses in play. I tracked down to "Video" drivers...

Everytime i stress the system, small pauses apear on audio. When system redraw screen, play directdraw tests from DxDiag, when i minimize/maximize windows...

CPU usage is 0%-2%, 3.5GB RAM FREE almost always, 10 GB free on C.

Windows Server 2003 is "tweaked" to "workstation" (audio is hardware accelerated, directX 9.0c, etc). Video, only DirectDraw, not supported 3D or AGP. Video card is an ATI RAGE XL with 8MB RAM, on-board. It is not configurable the amount of RAM used by video card...

Now, where (i searched HP site, no success) i find newer drivers for ATI RAGE XL for Windows 2003 ?
Or better, how do i allocate MORE RAM - i have aprox. 3GB free and i am not able to allocate none to video.

10x for your time,
Daniel.

Re: Windows 2003 server and audigy2/video problem

Have you tried installing the XP version:
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894

Add the switches /3GB and /PAE to the boot.ini file. Refer to this MSKB:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283037

In my understanding, the Video card will use its RAM 8MB but adding above switches will enable windows to take advantage of memory over 4GB and this may help.

Hope this help

Don't know what happened to the link in my first post so here it is again. But if it's still grayed out, just copy and paste the URL:
