Question about HP MSA70
So I have a plan to get a HP MSA70. want about 30TB after RAID and formatting (give or take a few TB) i figured id fill it with 8 4TB drives in RAID 5, these would be SATA Consumer drives, i figured it wouldn't need to be very reliable or fast since its only for backups, power, heat, noise does not matter to me.
my question is: does the MSA70 care about HP branded drives like the servers do? can i just put in any old drives into it? do i need interposers to go from sata to SAS?

Re: Question about HP MSA70
Hello @pinakotal,
The document (pg no 14, 15) lists that only HP/HPE drives are supported. However, you can test the other drives of the same specs.
You may find this document useful - https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/c04140655.pdf?jumpid=in_lit-psnow-getpdf
