XP 512 Disk Testing
Hello
does anyone know whether it is possible to test an XP disk array hard drive, in another type of disk array, if you remove the disk from it's chassis.
the reason im asking is that we have a load of XP disks to test that have come back from a customer, and we dont have an XP array on site, and these disks need to be tested before agreeing to replace the disks
any advice or help on this would be much appreciated

Re: XP 512 Disk Testing
Well, these are either standard Hitachi or Seagate FC drive.
Thus it should be possible to attach the drive to a server but difficult to an array due to specialized drive FW.
What you would need is a matching cable with the respective connector and an HBA to be installed in a PC or server.
This way you could access the drive directly.
But I have never done!
Cheers
Peter
