XP12K, Raid Manager and CA
I could not locate this information from anywhere else.
If I were to have a dedicated host run the HORCM instance and control the CA groups, what is the zoning/lun presentation requirement.
I vaguely remember that the host will only need to be zoned to the XP cluster ports that serve the PVOL/SVOL luns. Or do I need to present all the PVOL/SVOL ldevs to the host too ?
TIA
Sundar

Re: XP12K, Raid Manager and CA
Hi Sundar,
You only need to have the access to CMD LUN from the controlling hosts, this helps you starting the HORCM instances. For a security reason you can present the PVOL/SVOL to any dummy port (only the host group, no WWN associated) this will prevent these LUNs to be presented to any host by mistake.
In another configuration, your PVOLs can be presented to a live host (actually writing data to LUNs) and these LUNs can be managed from another host (say CommandView XP console, which already has CMD assigned to it via FC-HBA).
Hope this helps.
