brocade area

Did any brocade discussion come here after broadcom chainflushed their community bb?:

"Valued Brocade Fibre Channel Networking Community member,

Broadcom has made the decision to decommission the Brocade Fibre Channel Networking Community site. As our primary route to market is through our OEM partners, we encourage you to join your specific OEM forum. You also still have access to the overall Broadcom community."

If so. It isn't obvious what subforum it should be.

I have been trying to download firmware for a week. Broadcom is two-faced, because unlike the above "our primary route to market is through our OEM partners", they are now forcing customers to first go to the oem site like always, but now you ust go to a special site at broadcom to get their holy blessing to download.

I have been working a ticket with HPE because HPE didn't have SAID "linked" to the hpe passport account we have been using for years, so their "WEBCOP" stopped me (don't even get me started...)

the HPE rep helped me get through that and navigate the broadcom/brocade supersecret site (brocade/broadcom has no way to contact them or anything on their site, it is a black box, and deliberately so). I had to do various validation hoops and then, ok, we can download?

NOT so fast - like the wizard of oz, they will cogitate for up to three business days... well three business days have come and gone (surprise!), and I am still waiting to hear anything.. I have now re-engaged HPE, what else can i do?

I'm putting this here not only to warn other customers, and solicit any opinions and/or workarounds, but to publicly berate broadcom/brocade on their disrespectful and hypocritical attitude towards customers, the result of which is the worst support in the industry.

Re: brocade area

Hi, Parvez_AL,

This is mostly a brocade problem... I do want to re-engage HPE because their side is also having problems - my HPE passport account keeps "forgetting" the SAID/SAR links it should already have, I can find them in the account but the [obtain software] box is again locked... I also want to engage them as they are the only way for me to proceed, broadcom/brocade have completely hidden themselves and have no "customer-facing" anything. they have been, and continue to be, awful.

Is this the correct forum to post about hpe rebadged brocade, by the way...?

I will probably wait until next week now. hpe is probably swamped (no pun intended) with NOLA/NYC calls now, and those should really go first. I have emailed HPE yesterday re: my case, so I will wait for that for now. Thank you for your offer of help, and if I need to take you up on it, I definitely will. Have a nice weekend.
