High CPU utilization
I have an HP procurve E5406zl series. the switch is showing CPU utilization of 75%, does this mean that the switch is over utilized?
how can I know till what percentage of CPU is normal

Hi Leti,
I think that 75% it's 'on the edge' of Over Utilized, you know... on the threshold.
Anyway I recommend you to set one port on Mirror and select all the rest of the ports wich you want to mirror. Then start wireshark and look what is causing the utilization problem.

Hi Leti
No, it's not over-utilized. But it's rare to see a 5400-switch with CPU utilization constantly high. There may be a SW problem with it, or it's simply handling a lot of CPU-sensitive traffic. As advised, Wireshark would tell you what kind of traffic is passing through. Spanning Tree, however, won't affect this.
I'd suggest calling support, they can help you better.
