ProLiant Gen9 blades and Micro SD cards
A customer question/problem that Greg was working on:
***********
I received a one line panic email from a customer stating that “our new Gen9 servers are not recognizing the MicroSD cards so I can’t load ESX”. This is all I have so far! I have asked for any error messages, esx install messages, etc. I’ve also asked for ROM settings on the Gen9. Given my LACK of information to this group, have any of y’all had problems with MicroSD cards and Gen9?

Reply from Charles:

I heard its a UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) issue, so have customer change it to legacy BIOS. And it should be able to see the SD card..

Info back from Greg:

Thanks for the help! This was the UEFI issue.

Re: ProLiant Gen9 blades and Micro SD cards
Please try disabling USB3 in UEFI. Keep us posted if this workaround helps you out.

Re: ProLiant Gen9 blades and Micro SD cards
Hi,
Make sure the Micro SD CARD is formatted using the FAT32 file system.
