daily "Congratulations! You have a new rank" messages?

I'm getting a daily Forum's message from Warren_admin with

"Congratulations! You have a new rank in Enterprise Business Community | HP Online Forum"

Is it just me or do others see this also?

Delete is quick & easy, but would prefer those message to only be send on a significant change.

Or else...   I'll just hit the [Ignore this user] button.

I think it's just part of the transition.  I had a bunch of them - most with the same date.  I think when things started and they were working on translating our old ITRC points, we would get a promotion to beginner, then "has somewhat of a clue", then "can spell own name", etc., etc. (wouldn't it be nice if they would list them somewhere so we would have some sort of clue what they mean?).

They'll stop or at least become very infrequent once things have settled and you should only see one when you actually achieve a new rank (by whatever criteria they don't seem to want to tell us).

After all the times I've asked for an explanation of "Founder" status (and others), I finally received a Private Message:

/FOUNDER/ is a rank based on a high level of contribution in the legacy forums. The other rankings are based on what you do in the new Enterprise Community. Welcome, and congratulations on your new rank.

I certainly don't understand why Warren would choose to respond privately, like it's some kind of secret, but then again, I don't understand why these things aren't just explained publicly to start with.

An other rule appears to be 'HP Alliance' trumps 'Founder'.  :-).

Pete - I've actually just asked Warren to post a message about the different roles (including Founder) based on some other threads here.  So we'll try to get that posted shortly.

Quick question on the original topic - are people still getting the daily "Congrats" private messages as of last night?

Update - looks like Hein was relaying at the same time I was - so the daily spam is still going out.  I think we've got that one pinned down, but apparently the fix wasn't deployed yet - I will look into that this morning.

As far as repeat Congratulations! messages, I haven't seen any but the initial batch until last night went Warren sent his explanation with the subject "Re: Congratulations! You have a new rank in Enterprise Business Community | HP Online Forum ".

Founder Status, registered 2008, 262 Posts, 28 Kudos

Oposite: Hein van den Heuvel: 

No Founder Status, registered 2003, 4768 posts, 1265 Kudos

Looking at that explanation and the numbers Hein deserves it much more to get a FOUNDER Flag.

I noticed that alsa. That's why I replied earlier: An other rule appears to be 'HP Alliance' trumps 'Founder'.

And that's ok, a single 'ribbon' is plenty, notably for the topic markings.

But maybe a persons PROFILE page could show multiple ribbons as appropriate?

Hmm ok, my guess with the alliance flag is HP Partner status - so you are flagged of as Part of HP Alliance.

And more worth then Founder, ok not my opinion but possible. Leaves the question how someone with 260 posts get the same title for his outstanding contribution as the well known names.

FWIW ... I too am getting daily private messages advising me that my status has been updated to "valued contributor".  I haven't posted anything for a week (until today) so I don't think it's triggered by my activity.

While the messages themselves aren't a big deal, I'm inclined to turn off the "send me email when someone sends me a private message" function.  Which means that if a user sends me a genuine private message I won't know about it until I next visit the site.  In other words the daily spams are reducing the value of the functionality.

BTW, I believe the "HP Alliance" ribbon is for any one who is an HP business partner or AllianceOne (DSPP) member.
