4200G 12 port - web interface
I can not for the life of me get the web interface to work with my 4200G 12 port switch.
When logged in through the console port I get an error message saying that the username/password invalid. I have tried all of the default passwords but none work.
Where are the users and how do I manage them or change their password.
I have updated the switch to the latest boot rom and still no luck. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve D.

Re: 4200G 12 port - web interface
Hi Steve
The passwords are saved in the config file.
You habe to enter the Boot-Setup (Press Ctrl-B while displaying the startup screen) and access the menu to manage the files on the flash. There you can delete your Config-File (usually 3comoscfg.cfg) => den reboot the System.
Unfortunatelly the hole config was deleted. But theres no other way to reset the user-passwords.
regards Manuel

Re: 4200G 12 port - web interface
Sorry if this is a stupid question but...
to get to the config screen, I need to reboot the switch and watch the startup through the console port and then use CTRL+B or is there another way to view the flash?

Re: 4200G 12 port - web interface
OK.
I have a custom config file that I was able to edit and get working.
I looked at the original config file and was able to make all of my necessary changes. Everything is working now.
Thanks for the point in the right direction.
