4200G + SFP
Hello all!
I just installed a 4200G 12 ports + SFP module.
But the fiber link is still down.
I've "activated" the port who it has the SFP module in the web interface.
Must I do something else?
Thank you a lot!
PS : an SFP module can work at 100Mbps? Because our fiber part is 100Mbps.

Re: 4200G + SFP
Are you using the SFP 100BASE-FX/SX? The 4200G does support SFP transceivers at 100Mbps, at the two last slots.
FAST ETHERNET SFP TRANSCEIVERS:
3Com 100BASE-FX SFP (Dual-Mode) 3CSFP9-81
3Com 100BASE-LX SFP (Dual-Mode) 3CSFP9-82

Re: 4200G + SFP
Hello Fred!
No I have a 1000BASE-SX SFP.
When I use a SFP, I must connect it on one of the last port ?
Thank you!

Re: 4200G + SFP
You are using the 3CSFP91 transceiver. This SFP works only at 1Gbps and in any slot. In order to work at 100Mbps you have to purchase a different SFP Transceiver (one of that two I mentioned above), and this one works only at the two last slots.
