Choosing modules and transcievers for 3Com SuperStack 4 Switch 5500G-EI.
Hi everyone!
I have a small network mainly built on 3com 5500. Uplinks are 10G optical links.
Now i have to add a new segment to lan, and i allready have a brand new 3com 5500 (3CR17255-91).
I chose an appropriate connectivety module: Switch 5500G-EI 2-Port 10G Module (3C17268) or HP 2-port 10GbE XFP E5500 Module (JE085A).
The problem is, that i dont know which transcievers to use.
On existing 5500 i type
> display interface TenGigabitEthernet 1/1/1 …............ Port hardware type is XFP_10GBASE_LR …......................
But then
>display transceiver-information interface TenGigabitEthernet 1/1/1 …........ Serial Number : 3CXF96L003 ….........
In description to 3CXFP96 on hp.com i find : ER XFP TRANSCEIVER, but display interface says:
XFP_10GBASE_LR
So.... 96 - ER or LR? What should i take to make a new segment compatible with others?
P.S. This thread has been moved from ProCurve / ProVision-Based to Comware-Based. - Hp Forum Moderator
