Re: Oracle Universal Installer Error on HP-UX 11.00
I have tried setting the display variable to everything suggested but still no success!
I have included the command capture below when I enter xclock or invoke sam. I can use sam successfully but not xclock.
# xclock
Error: Can't open display: :0.0
Error: Couldn't find per display information
# sam
The DISPLAY environment variable is set to ":0.0", but
the current configuration won't allow sam to run on that display.
The DISPLAY environment variable may be incorrect, or, if you are
running sam remotely, you may need to allow the remote system
to access your local X server by typing
/usr/bin/X11/xhost +my_server
on your local machine.
Do you want to proceed using the terminal version of sam?
(yes or no) [yes] no
#
To confirm I have got dtlogin running e.g.
# ps -ef | grep dtlog
root 1166 1143 0 Mar 13 ? 0:00 /usr/dt/bin/dtlogin
AND Xserver is installed e.g.
# swlist -l product | grep Xserver CDE
PHSS_20141 1.0 Xserver cumulative patch
Xserver B.11.00 HP-UX X Server
CDE B.11.00 HP-UX CDE User Interface
#
Thanks for the patience guys, but something still needs addressing.

Re: Oracle Universal Installer Error on HP-UX 11.00
The Rx program in /Program Files/Reflection/
it'll give you a wizard thing.. cancel that
(or work with it as you like)
When you press cancel to the wizard you should
get a list in a window on the left.
Right down at the very bottom of that list is
XDMCP Broadcast.
Double - click on it.
After this you should have a list generated of
all servers on your network (same one as the pc) offering to host an XDM session, XDM is
X Display Management,
Select the one where the Oracle installer is on
You should get a CDE login after clicking on it. And you can login as normal.
After logging into CDE you shouldn't have to
export the display..
Rather than typing in xhost +server
just type in xhost +
If you have a linux box on your network it's
all the better :) but reflection should work
afterall you download it from wrq .com

No problem with the points, I managed to
get my first hat! It's less critical now.
Thanks?

I'm glad your problem was solved. You shouldn't encounter any further trouble assigning points to replies. I sent an email to Alistair for confirmation.
Best regards,
Laurent
