Support for Oracle 10gR2 on PA-RISC HP-UX 11.31
We are having difficulties on getting this information from Oracle support people. Does anybody know when Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2...) will be available on PA-RISC platform running HP-UX 11i v3 (11.31)?
Currently it is not certified. I need a date for making plans.

Re: Support for Oracle 10gR2 on PA-RISC HP-UX 11.31
Shalom,
Oracle is testing the OS from what I've heard. They are not going to give us a completion date because the amount of testing that needs to be done is not trivial.
What normally happens is they find problems that require kernel changes and OS patches. Sometimes they need HP to develop new OS patches.
Then they have to test again and then adjust their installer to require the patches and kernel parameter changes.
I think what I've given over here is simplistic, but gives you an idea of why you are not going to get a date.
Generally we find out from sources one or two weeks before the certification happens. Your Oracle rep might be able to help you.
Good Luck,
