expanding volume, how to add to windows?

Hi,

We have a DL360 G5 server with a smart array 6400 controller. Attached is a HP storage unit. We've added a few new drives, and I have used the HP storage management tool to expand the existing array.

In order to add the new available space to my windows partition, it seems like I have to change my drive from basic to dynamic.

Is this right or did I do something wrong?

Oh no, do not do that!!
Dynamic disks are not really reliable!

Rather use Microsofts diskpart utility to extend your partition.
