Can't create Hot Spare

We have an HP L1000 with a 4SI card and connected to it is one SC10 and one DS2300.I have one Hot Spare drive ( 18gb) on the SC10 but when i try to configure (irm) another Hot SPare for the DS2300 , it doesn't do anything nor give an error.We created 2 luns out of 13 drives and left the 14 for the hot spare, currently it reads RDY and others read ON-LINE
Can anyone help?
