LUN configuration manager xp question?

There are the SCSI path list:

1A F 0:00
*****************************
why the SCSI ID is F?
Can I config it another SCSI ID?
Thanks

rainman

you need to submit more information; SCSI-ID are generally SET on the hardware side; and usually are changed by DIP switches or the HDD or on the controller or depends on the BUS topology etc.

Provide mode infomation;

Re: LUN configuration manager xp question?

This is from CommandView XP Users Guide (Chapter 7 LUN Configuration Manager):

SCSI ID:
If the SCSI radio button is selected, displays all of the allowed values for SCSI IDs.
If Fibre is selected, the SCSI ID box displays only one (F) SCSI ID.

This manual can be found at http://www.hp.com/cposupport/manindex/hpsurestor64859_eng_man.html

Re: LUN configuration manager xp question?

Rainman,

The SCSI ID is always set to 15 on Fibre Channel connections. The LUN ranges go from 0x00 to 0xff per port.

This your original post decodes appropriately:

*****************************
port SCSI ID CU:LDEV ......
1A F 0:00

Port = 1A
SCSI ID = 15 (normal for FC attach)
CU:LDEV - Volume 0:00

I notice there's no LUN number reported. Has it been assigned yet?

Cheers,
Tom

Re: LUN configuration manager xp question?

Tom is right!
In the case of Fiber Channel, Only SCSI ID "F" will be used so only SCSI ID "F" is displayed in the LUN configuration menu.

Hope this helps,
Never say "no" first.
