Mixing 10,000 rpm drives with 7,200 rpm drives
Currently we have 3 x 9.1GB 7,200 RPM drives running RAID 5 on NT4 with a Smart 2SL Array controller and need to add 2 additional 9.1GB drives to the array. All we can find is 10,000 RPM drives. Can you mix and match spindle speeds or do all drives need to be the same RPM

Re: Mixing 10,000 rpm drives with 7,200 rpm drives
With a 2SL - you can't add anymore drives to the existing array... The controller doesn't support this. Now - it does support more than one array and if you do create a new one, the drives can be faster or slower, larger or smaller - won't matter.
