Re: how to configure raid5 with hot spare for MSA 30 in HP-UX server
Disk with ID 1 is faulty, disk with IDs 0,2,3,4 are alive.
Any other failed drive?
Please pull disk with ID1 and post the
sautil/saconfig
again after this.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: how to configure raid5 with hot spare for MSA 30 in HP-UX server
Get them replaced!
Disk 3 looks good in your logs.
However, replace all the bad disks and post the
saconfig/sautil
after you inserted the new drives.
Even if the drive is still failed, it is possible to activate it again (with no valid data), create a new file system on the RAID and restore your backup.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: how to configure raid5 with hot spare for MSA 30 in HP-UX server
# sautil /dev/ciss4 accept _media _xchg 0
this should toggle the logical drive 0 online again.
After this, check again with sautil/saconfig.
You should now see the device CLAIMED in ioscan again.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
