Fault LED on MSA1000
Hello,
I had to replace one of the power cables of a StorageWorks and now the MSA1000 fault LED is on, even if the redundant power has been restored.
Is there a way e.g. from CLI to turn the LED off?
Thanks

Re: Fault LED on MSA1000
Here is what happens on the MSA as far as fault LEDs are concerned.
Once a fault had occured, the LED turns on as expected. If you have never viewed the error in the LCD display menu, the fault LED will stay on constantly. If you scroll back through the menu until you find the fault condition listed, the LED will turn on once you go to something else in the menu. Now, every time you scroll to the error again, the LED turns on, but only while showing the error. It will be off for everything else.
That is only one part though.
If you want to clear the error, there are 2 things you can do.
1. When you are looking at the error in the LCD screen, press the 2 side buttons at the same time, and it will clear just that one error from the LCD memory.
2. The other option is to clear all errors at the same time. To do this, from the LCD panel, scroll down until you are at the last item listed. The with the tip of your finger, or a pen, push the middle of the buttons in. If done correctly, it will put the LCD display into a self test. Just keep pressing any button, it will go through a series of checks on all the leds, then button 1,2,3,4 when prompted. Eventually you will get to self test complete. Press any button again, and it will prompt you to clear all memory. Hit the up button to go to YES and then hit the right button to accept. Now all errors listed will be cleared.
There is no action you can take in the CLI to do this. The CLI for the MSA is not as robust as it is for other devices.
Hope this helps.
