LTO 6 Ultrium tape Total backup files

I have backup the files into tape twice but seems the report shows the same size instead of double its size with Permanent settings on the Data Protection. Please help.

i dont know anything about total backup but it sounds like its set to "overwrite data" and not "append data to tape" possibly.

Thank you for your response. Sorry about the term you mentioned (overwrite and append) as i dont see it in the settings and only saw the settings as Permanent in the Protection field. Is this the correct settings or not? If not, please help on where to set that settings.

What backup software are you using?  MF Data Protector?

I am using HP Data Protector with Product version A.07.00 Internal build version 105. Please help as I can't endorse the tape to offsite backup until i saw the total backup and to determine that the data is backup as it should.
