ASR Detected by System ROM

Hi Guys,

I have 3 HP DL 380 G3 servers, running RHEL V4 with the latest PSP (7.52). All theses servers were built pretty much on the same day about 3 weeks ago.

The servers worked ok for about a week, however in the last week, all three servers have been rebooted by ASR with only "ASR Detected by System ROM" logged in the IML at different times.

As far as i can tell from system logs, the OS was working all ok, all the business services were working up until the server started rebooting.

As there is nothing else logged in the IML, i am unsure as to why the ASR initiated a reboot.

We also have SNMP configured and working on these 3 servers, and sending traps to a HP SIM box.

The only thing I can see before the reboot is that HP SIM box recieves a "cold start" trap. This cold start trap is sent as SNMPD is HUP'd by logrotate when the logs are rotated.

Is there any connection? In any case, any pointers will be appreciated.

I can stop the SNMP service and the server keeps functioning OK.

Also if I disable ASR via the HP Systems home page, does it require a reboot?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Harman

Hi Harman,

Try updating the system ROM and also install the system health drivers for added hardware support.

These are available in:

Hope it works!!!!
