OK this sounds just crazy to me. All I need
is to access a windows SQL database form my
unix (hp-ux) oracle database.
The windows OS is server 2003 running SQL 2000
The unix OS is hp-ux 11.23 running Oracle 9.2.0.5.0
The unix box is a rx3600 Integrity Itanium.
Under PARISC we used Generic Heterogeneous Services.
But now with our new Itanium 64-bit OS that service is no longer
supported by otacle. I looked into Oracle Transparent Gateway
but the gateway is only certified for older Oracle
releases 9.2.0.8, 10.1.0.5, and 10.2.0.3.
Due to vendor requirements I can't upgrade my oralce.
Surely ther must be another way.
Just woundering what others are doing.
Thanks

SolutionDepending on your requirements you might realize it vice versa. from mssql to oracle?
I have also already checked for ODBC connection without success:

Re: Access Windows MSSQL from hp-ux Oracle
Thanks for the reply. Yes I allready have the Oracle database linked on my SQL server.
But I really need to link the SQL server to the Oracle instance. There's got to be a way. I coulnd't be the only one in this situation. One would think that Oracle and Microsoft would realize the need for this.
Or maybe this is a Micro$oft conspiracy to get people to use SQL instead of Oracle!
