Check the Hardware Requirements
The system must meet the following minimum hardware requirements:

Requirement Minimum Value
Physical memory (RAM) 256 MB (262144 KB)
Swap space 512 MB (524288 KB) or twice the size of RAM
On systems with 2 GB or more of RAM, the swap space can be between one and two times the size of RAM

Disk space in /tmp 400 MB (409600 KB)
Disk space for software files 700 MB (716800 KB) to install only Oracle HTTP Server, or 1 GB (1048576 KB) to install Oracle HTTP Server and Oracle HTML DB
System architecture 64-bit

Check the Software Requirements
The system must meet the following minimum software requirements:

The version of HP-UX must be HP-UX 11i (11.11) PA-RISC or higher.

HP-UX 11i Quality Pack (GOLDQPK11i), June 2003 or later must be installed.

The following patches must be installed:

PHKL_29198: Psets Enablement Patch; top(1)

PHNE_28476: Cumulative STREAMS Patch

PHNE_28923: LAN product cumulative patch

You must install any additional recommended patches for Java SDK 1.4.2.

Mount the Product Disc
The Oracle software is available on both CD-ROM and DVD-ROM. These discs are in ISO 9660 format with Rockridge extensions.

To mount the product disc, follow these steps:

If necessary, enter a command similar to following to unmount the currently mounted disc, then remove it from the drive:

# /usr/sbin/umount /SD_CDROM

In this example, /SD_CDROM is the mount point directory for the CD-ROM drive.

Insert the disc into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.

To mount the disc, enter commands similar to the following:

$ su - root
# /usr/sbin/mount -F cdfs -o rr /dev/dsk/cxtydz /SD_CDROM

In this example, /SD_CDROM is the CD-ROM mount point directory and /dev/dsk/cxtydz is the device name for the CD-ROM device, for example /dev/dsk/c0t2d0.

also don't forget the -o cdcase in the mount.

otherwise you'll get all the files/dir in upper case.

We installed it using the DVD. Only one available.

These are the minimum hardware requirements:
a. 512 MB of physical RAM
b.1 GB of swap space (or twice the size of RAM)
c. 400 MB of disk space in the /tmp directory
d. Between 0.5 GB and 3 GB of disk space for the Oracle software
e. 1.2 GB of disk space for a preconfigured database that uses file system storage (optional)

so it depends on what you have chosen to install.
