Re: Installing qlogic 2342

do an ioscan
then insf -e
then ioscan -fnC fc
then ioscan -fnC disk

do a tdutil or fcmsutil on the fiber card it it is clamied an make sure it says online

if you have a switch check your zones.

check any lun maskinf if it applies.

If this is a replacement hba you may need to do a replace disk with lvm.

Re: Installing qlogic 2342

Hmm, the hardware path 0/3/1/0 shows as "unknown PCI-X SerialBus". Is this the path for the slot the card is in?

This could be the qla2342 if the driver for the card is not installed and enabled in the kernel configuration.

After installing the driver, the card should get identified properly in the ioscan listing.

Re: Installing qlogic 2342

Hi Yatin

Apply the latest patch bundle and you should have the driver. Therafter check

#ioscan -fnC fc for the presence of card

Re: Installing qlogic 2342

Are you using a HP-supported card?
(A6826A , A6795A)

It's not the JBOD, because 'ioscan' is not even seeing your PCI card.

You should see something like this from 'ioscan':

... 0/2 ba Local PCI-X Bus Adapter (783)
... 0/2/1/0 fc HP Tachyon XL2 Fibre Channel Mass Storage Adapter
... 0/2/1/0.1 fcp FCP Domain

I agree that it's probably the card at

... 0/3/1/0 unknown PCI-X SerialBus

and that you must go into SAM and be sure that the Fibre Channel driver is there. Just install all the drivers that start with "fc" to be sure.

Otherwise, it might just be a bad card.
