Re: Migrate Oracle to another OS
Clone the datafiles. Take a cold backup ftp them to the redhat box and then follow oracle conversion procedures. This may or may not be supported.
A supported route is export/import.
You don't mention the database version on Red Hat. I recommend the same database version. Don't add a major migration to a tough project.
If you use designer, you will have to reinstall that and follow a special data migraion process.
The procedures are available at metalink.oracle.com

Re: Migrate Oracle to another OS
As the Filesystems(of present one), Block size and all other stuff were involved it might not be supported and ofcourse a well in-use procedure is export/import.
Thanks SEP for good explanation,
Thanks

Re: Migrate Oracle to another OS
I expect going the other direction will be pretty complex as well.
Good Luck,
