i have server rp7420 hp-ux 11i v1 with oracle 10g installed i want to change the ip adress of the server and the client is that straight forward or i must change some files in oracle

Hi Tareq,
Have a look at this link below for your Oracle config.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/83991/how-do-i-change-the-ip-address-on-oracle-10g
For HPUX you can use the set_parms script to change the ip-address
# set_parms ip_address
Reboot the system after the change.

you can edit /etc/rc.config.d/netconf and replace the current IP with new and reboot the box.
