Hi what does the * at the end of the file means
i have a user changed his shell from another shell to tcsh - but the .cshrc file does not seem the time stamp as he logged in .Also it has * at the end - what does that mean

you do _what_, exactly?
Please learn how to ask a question. Showing
an actual command with its actual output can
be more helpful than vague descriptions and
interpretations. (Or none at all.)
Are you looking at "ls" output, or what?
man ls
Look for "-F"?
