Hi,
I have Oracle Enterprise Manager console running on a Xp-client. My repository is on HP-UX in an 8i database (just like my target databases). Because XP-client didn't run my 8i OEM anymore I had to switch to the 9i OEM.
Problem is that I can't connect to the repository anymore (vtk-1000).
How do I configure the 8i agent to run with the 9i OEM?
Or do I have to recreate the repository?
How do I install an 9i agent on HP-UX?
please advice.
TIA
John Destreel

Solution
What we did here was put a small 9i database on the XP box for the OEM repository. Then we put the 9i client/Intelligent Agent in a new Oracle home on the machine with the 8i database. You can do a custom install of 9i and just install the Agent on HP-UX.

Re: how to install Oracle9i OEM agent for 8i database on HP-UX
Hi,
You can also forget the windoze xp and install 8i OEM in the HP-UX box.
PS: my OEM 1.6.1 (for Oracle 8.0.x) runs with XP (well, it crashes sometimes...).
Best Regards,
Eric Antunes
