site preparation guide for rp7400

Hello,

I am trying to get our electrican to prepare electrical wiring for a rp7400 and xp48.

i tried searching all rp7400 docs and was not able to find following details:

1. what type of receptacles?
2. how many wires per AC input?
3. site preparation guide for rp7400?
4. does the AC input differ based on the CPU config/cabinet?

i tried searching docs.hp.com and could find a site preparation guide for rp7400.

any inputs appreciated.

Thanks
Mandar

Hi Mandar,

The Site Prep guide for the rp7400 is located at the following URL;

http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/1615/rp7400_customer/index.html

you need to select documentation at the top and look in the first chapter of the hardware manual.

Enjoy,

Re: site preparation guide for rp7400

Mandar,

This isn't as simple as it may appear. If you are getting the RP7400 (N Class) and not the RP7410 you will normaly be powering off the PDU rails in the cabinet. These will be one of the following (at least for the UK)

IEC 309
Stripped Ends

There is a good web link to cabinets, PDU rails, power leads etc at:

http://www.hp.com/racksolutions/

If you look at this link and select PDU's/Power or cordsets then look at your quote you should be able to match the two up and answer your question. The RP7400 (if I remember correctly) comes with a FOC site survey from HP so you may wish to book this via your reseller.

Cheers
