9000 SERVER- A500 (A5570A)

I STARTED THE SERVER AND ALL SEEMS TO BE GOING WELL UNTIL I NOTICE ON THE FRONT THERE ARE LED's FLASHING TELLING ME THERE IS A FAULT, SO IN THE MENU I TYPE "in wa" AND TO MY SURPRISE IT TELLS ME "THERE IS UNMATCHED CPU'S" ? NOW WHEN I INITIALLY CHECKED "IN PR" READ AS "550MHZ CPU ACTIVE" BUT I NOTICED MY BUILD SHEET FOR THIS SYSTEM HAS US INSERTING A 440MHZ CPU... I NATURALLY OPENED IT UP TO SCAN FOR POSSIBLE DIP SWITCHES FOR CPU SPEED SETTINGS BUT I WAS ONLY ABLE TO FIND ONE (S3) AND NOT SURE THE PURPOSE...I APPRECIATE ANY HELP I CAN GET ON THIS ONE...FIRST TIMER ON THE A500...
THANKS TO EVERYONE IN ADVANCE!

Re: 9000 SERVER- A500 (A5570A)

The DIP switch S3 needs to be set based on the type of CPU being installed.

440 MHz
1 2 3 4 5 6
1 0 0 1 1 0

550 MHz
1 2 3 4 5 6
1 0 0 1 1 1

( 1 = Closed, 0 = Open )

Anne,

do you mean you added another cpu? or do you just have one installed?

If you have two they need to match speed wise and then set the switches as sameer has said

It will say on top the part number and speed of the processors.
