We have an L class server running HP UX 11.11 and accidentally the IP Address of GSP got changed and now giving a conflict with other server, The conflicting server is working, but not GSP.
Any idea to reset the IP Address/getting back to the old status.
Actually i am working from remote. I tried stty reset on GSP, it resets it but still not working. Can anyone please help me?
Thanks

Re: GSP IP Address - change
Changing the ip address and saving the configuration should result in an immediate cut off of your connection.
If this is not happening and your reset procedure is not working, you should take a look at dispatching the hardware team.

Re: GSP IP Address - change
Thanks for the email.
Is the working server not affected until the hardware team reaches to fix the GSP ?
Thanks

Re: GSP IP Address - change
you can ask the MP cable to be disconnected physically to make sure that the working server is not affected till the hardware team reaches.

Re: GSP IP Address - change
the things in teh present scenario might just keep to the extent that IP Address of the Production Server LAN is not deconfigured or that the LAN Cable of the Prod Server does not face a disconnection, in that case if the LAN Cable of the MP of that server is connected, you shall face a real problem.

Yes it is the working server might be giving problem better you can change you GSP IP ASAP.
To change the IP of GSP you have to attach a laptop physicaly into the server and then change the IP Address.

Re: GSP IP Address - change
as suggested by Ron, I also agree that the best thing in this situation is to get the MP Serial access and change the MP IP and then reset that using CM>XD -- R
So please if possible you can get someone Onsite Work on the MP with the serial access if possible, That would be the best possible approach and would be a clean one.
