Nope, it is definitely still a D270, but with the FWD hot-swap drive cage. One of the limits of the D2xx, with the FWD drive cage is that you can only put 2 drives in. When upgraded to a D3xx you can put up to 5 drives in the FWD hot-swap cage.

All the D2xx we have, or have had, are configured with the FWD hot-swap cage. And the all definitely still show up with the D2xx model number.

The D-class could have either SE-SCSI-2 or FW-SCSI-2 drives. I looked it up. The part number to upgrade from SE to FWD was A3341A and it used an HSC slot. This upgrade part number had to be ordered along with any FWD disk drives.
