In a 128 way Superdome where we will have 2 cabinets, what about the no of MPs.
Will there be individual MPs for individual Cabinets ?
Thanks in advance,
Bond

Re: MP in SUPERDOME
Only one mp for the whole superdome.
This information can also be found in the manuals of the superdomes. A good admin must know how internet works and how to find this information instead of asking simple questions

Re: MP in SUPERDOME
I DID go thru documents, and there is a document in docs.hp.com which says
There is one MP per Superdome cabinet, thus there are two (2) for Superdome 64-socket. But one, and only one, can be active at a time. There is no redundancy or failover feature

Re: MP in SUPERDOME
Only one mp a superdome there is no redundancy. You get an mp for the first cabinet. if you have 2 cabinets it's threated as one. So for a 128 superdome you get one mp to configure and no redundancy.
I thing it's better because i have seen many problems with the failover MP's on the other RP xxxx series.

Re: MP in SUPERDOME
As stated you only need 1 MP for the entire complex.
Also remember you also need a Core I/O for *each* cell in the complex. If you have 4 cells across the 2 cabinets, you'll need 4 core I/O cards.

Jeff

SolutionA partition can be comprised of 1 or more cells. And could be made up of an entire cabinet - even the entire complex.
Each individual partition needs at least one core I/O card.

Re: MP in SUPERDOME
It is One and Only MP per COMPLEX,
A Complex is everything that is connected together, all cabinets,IOXs.

Siva.

Re: MP in SUPERDOME
You will have only 1 MP per complex, you may have multiple cabinets( Superdome or IOX) and each having seperate UGUY's, but the MP will be only one.
Hope this clarifies.

Re: MP in SUPERDOME
All Platform Management information from the different cabinets would be reporting to this MP.

Siva.
