We have a 2 cells 2 partitions rp7420, with 2 MP cards.
I have one MP lan configuration set and I can normally access to it. The problem is with the other MP card (the upper): even if I reset it (5 secs button, going to 192.168.0.1) when I try to telnet I get: "Connection refused". I tried half duplex and 100mbit fixed also.
I have also in the logs this watchdog alert:
Alert level 7: Fatal
Keyword: WATCHDOG_RESET_PARTITION
Partition being reset due to watchdog timeout expiring
Reporting Entity: Management Processor located in cabinet 0
Implementation Dependent: 0x0000000000000000

0xeb000ad500e00000 0x0100000043f46ea2
This is the output of sysrev:

Solution
Vanadio,
The upper MP in a rp7420 is the "slave" MP and its LAN port is dis-abled. You cannot log into this MP.
As for the Whatchdog_Reset_partition error you are seeing, this is an indication that the core cell in your partition is experiencing a known problem. From the sysrev output that you attached, you will need to update the firmware on this system to version 3.1. Because Firmware updates can only be performed by qualified HP Support personel, contact your local HP support office to schedule a firmware update.
Please read the release notes;

Re: rp7420 MP connection refused and watchdog
Is there something like the "run a patch assestment" (with cpm_collect.sh) also for the hardware firmware status?
Am I right assuming that is HIGHLY RECOMENDED :) but not mandatory the HP specialist assistance?
Thank you again.
